Qualifications

• Two or more years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician office setting OR completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years experience as Medical Assistant OR completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• Phlebotomy class or equivalent experience; basic computer knowledge; ability to type proficiently; English communication skills (verbal and written).
• New graduates must obtain CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certification within 1 year from hire date (or IL RN/LPN license in lieu).

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and provides direct patient care under supervision.
• Performs point-of-care testing (venipuncture, urine dips, strep, flu, pregnancy tests, cultures).
• Administers injections and medications as directed by physician.
• Maintains accurate documentation in medical records and practice management systems.
• Provides patient education and explains procedures to patients.
• Demonstrates teamwork and effective communication across departments.
• Contributes to cost reduction and process improvements.
