Job summary

Rush Oak Park Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support Physicians and Nurses in an ambulatory care setting. You will manage patient flow, perform vitals, injections, immunizations, and basic tests, while maintaining clean exam rooms and accurate Epic documentation.

The role requires CMA certification, CPR, and completion of Rush Apprenticeship within six months. It offers full-time hours, a sign-on bonus, and a pay range per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by a recognized body required upon hire.
• Rush Apprenticeship program graduates must obtain CMA certification within six months of hire.
• Current CPR certification required on start date.
• Computer skills are required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain organized patient flow.
• Perform patient intake: vitals, height/weight, history, allergies, meds.
• Prepare patient for exam and assist provider.
• Review appointment schedules and ensure charts are ready.
• Perform basic lab tests and phlebotomy as needed.
• Administer immunizations and medications per protocol.
• Document care in Epic per policy.
• Assist with scheduling tests, procedures, and follow-ups.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and stock exam rooms.
• Provide coverage for other clinical areas as assigned.
