Job summary

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required upon hire.
• Rush Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program graduates must obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Current CPR certification required prior to start date.
• Proficiency with computers and basic software skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and maintains organized patient flow.
• Performs patient intake: vital signs, height/weight, reason for visit, history, allergies, medications.
• Prepares patient for exam based on visit reason.
• Assists provider with procedures and patient care.
• Reviews appointment schedules and ensures charts are ready for visits.
• Performs basic lab and testing procedures as per standards.
• Administers immunizations and medications under physician direction.
• Maintains inventory and stocks exam rooms and equipment.
• Cleans and prepares treatment areas; supports patient testing and follow-up scheduling.
