Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform delegated clinical and administrative duties within a busy practice. The position may operate in both clinical and front-office functions, providing clerical support and assisting in patient care under the direction of the physician/provider.

Required qualifications include completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalency with CMA experience, plus current certification from one of the approved bodies.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED AND must have completed a Medical Assistant training program
• OR MA training program equivalency: at least 6 months experience in CMA role OR on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting
• Licensure/ Certification: Current certification by one of several approved CMA/NASM certifying bodies

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience.
• May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support and assisting in patient care under the direction of the physician/provider.
• Performs the duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
