Job summary

Wilson Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a pulmonary clinic. Under supervision, you will assist with patient assessments and basic treatments, perform diagnostic procedures, collect specimens, and help maintain a clean, well-stocked exam area.

This role also involves administrative tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Qualifications

• Certification in Basic Life Support within 60 days of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assisting program.
• License: CCMA, CMA or RMA.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient assessments and treatments under supervision.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies; keeps examination areas clean and stocked.
• Performs administrative duties including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

How You'll Contribute

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
