Job description

At CoreCivic, we do more than manage inmates; we care for people. We are currently seeking Certified Medical Assistants who are passionate about providing high-quality care in an institutional setting.

The incumbent should be able to perform the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with job requirements:

  1. Administer medication to inmates/residents under the supervision of the Health Services Administrator.
  2. Obtain, monitor, record, and report vital signs and patient's condition as needed.
  3. Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
  4. Assist nurses and physicians with physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
  5. Perform security functions in confined areas, including working rotating shifts and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to ensure they are secure.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent or higher.
  • Must be certified as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment or meet state guidelines for exceptions to certification.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.
