The Medical Assistant assists in patient examination and treatment under the provider's direction. Responsibilities include managing check-in, registering patients, measuring vital signs, recording information, drawing blood samples, preparing specimens, and setting up examination rooms.

Hourly rate: $17.50 - $26.00

Bonus eligible up to $600/month

Job Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred

Work Experience

• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Front Desk experience preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire, through ARC or AHA
• One of the following certifications at hire:
• CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA (verified through respective certifying bodies)

In lieu of an approved MA Certification, we accept:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing or LPN/RN program
• EMT certification through NREMT
• CNA certification

Essential Functions

• Register patients, verify insurance, process co-pays, and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals, answer patient questions, and inform staff of patient flow.
• Prepare patients for exams, conduct physical tests, perform point-of-care testing, and provide info to providers.
• Stock supplies, maintain exam rooms, and manage medical records.
• Handle communication tasks, perform opening/closing duties, and maintain equipment.

Additional Skills

• Proficiency in medical duties, typing, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
