The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for guiding patients through every step of their front-office experience, from initial greeting through check-in and appointment scheduling. This role manages patient intake, verifies insurance and identification documents, updates demographics and HIPAA/financial forms, and accurately processes payments while clearly explaining financial obligations. The coordinator maintains organized paper and electronic medical records, schedules and confirms appointments and follow-up visits according to specialty guidelines, and serves as a key communication point by managing phone calls and office emails. The role also includes performing ECGs and phlebotomy as ordered by the provider. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a tidy waiting area, assisting with chaperone duties during exams, and supporting the office team with clerical tasks to keep patient care and daily operations running smoothly.
