Job summary

Ascension's St. Vincent Medical Group in Fishers, IN seeks a qualified Medical Assistant for the OBGYN department. You’ll support patients and providers, prepare exam rooms, document medical history, and manage front-office tasks to keep a smooth practice flow.

This full-time daytime role requires clinical basics and a commitment to compassionate care. In this position, you’ll be part of a faith-based health system offering comprehensive benefits, growth opportunities, and a supportive team

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration within 90 days of hire date is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments under supervision.
• Clinical & Administrative Flow: Prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and manage basic materials stock.
• Accurate Documentation: Interview patients for medical history and chart information; transcribe orders for lab tests and medications.
• Front-Office Management: Handle clerical duties, answer calls, and maintain organized patient records.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Direct Patient Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments and procedures under supervision.
• Clinical & Administrative Flow: Prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and manage basic materials ordering and stocking to ensure operational efficiency.
• Accurate Documentation: Interview patients for medical history, accurately chart all information, and precisely transcribe provider orders for lab tests, radiology, and medications.
• Front-Office Management: Handle critical clerical duties, including answering calls and maintaining organized patient records to support a seamless practice flow.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
