Job summary

Pandya Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support Providers in delivering high-quality patient care. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, document vital signs, and help maintain an efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include patient intake, education, chart review, and ensuring proper sterilization and supplies. Requires MA program completion, current MA and BLS certifications, and 2 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in EMR systems required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a medical office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and collect intake information.
  • Accurately document vital signs in the medical record.
  • Provide patient education as directed by the Provider.
  • Review and file reports and test results in the chart before appointments.
  • Maintain exam rooms with supplies and sterilization.
  • Handle phone inquiries and relay messages to Providers as needed.
  • Triage and route messages to Providers promptly.
  • Maintain clinical logs and perform routine safety checks.

Job description

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant supports Providers in delivering high-quality patient care by performing clinical and administrative duties under supervision. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a well-maintained clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, conduct patient intake interviews, and accurately measure and document vital signs including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature in the medical record.
  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the Provider.
  • Ensure all relevant reports, laboratory results, and documentation are reviewed, filed, and available in the patient’s medical record prior to appointments.
  • Maintain exam rooms by stocking necessary medical supplies, preparing instruments, and ensuring proper sterilization procedures are followed.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls by taking accurate messages and responding appropriately to patients, physicians, and pharmacies within scope of practice.
  • Triage and route messages from patients and front office staff to Providers in a timely manner.
  • Maintain required clinical logs and perform routine safety checks, including refrigerator temperature logs, emergency medication checks, expired medication monitoring, oxygen tank checks, and sterilization fluid changes.
  • Comply with all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Lead and/or Office Manager.

Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of one (2) years of clinical experience in a medical office.
