Job summary

Novant Health Lakeside Family Physicians Antiquity clinic is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and support providers in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients across practice populations.

The CMA will partner with providers, prepare patients by recording vital signs and histories, and update electronic medical records. They will perform injections, immunizations, EKGs, and specimen collection in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Current State Driver's License (Palliative Care Only) required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating EMR.
  • Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice, including injections, immunizations, medication administration, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
  • Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely, efficient visits while maintaining a positive patient experience.
  • Assist with prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.

Novant Health Lakeside Family Physicians Antiquity clinic is hiring a Full- Time Certified Medical Assistant. The CMA is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will play a vital role in coordinating clinical care and assisting providers to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective healthcare for patients across all stages of life. What You'll Do
  • Partner with providers to deliver outstanding patient care and support efficient clinic operations.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic medical records.
  • Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice, including injections, immunizations, medication administration, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
  • Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely, efficient visits while maintaining a positive patient experience.
  • Assist with prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
What We're Looking For

Education: High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:

  • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Allied Health (AAH)
  • RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required

Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
