Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our busy dermatology team. You will accompany the dermatologist in the room, room patients, document vital information, and contribute to a friendly, efficient environment for patients and staff during visits.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office.
  • Must keep current on state certifications, licenses and registrations.
  • Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
  • Proficiency with computers including EMR and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and documenting vital information.
  • Scribing information for the dermatologist.
  • Providing post-op wound care to patients.
  • Drawing blood and suture removal.
  • Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
  • Scheduling patient appointments.
  • Assist dermatologist with procedures (biopsies, Mohs, phototherapy, injections, etc.).

Essential Functions:
  • Rooming patients and documents all vital information

  • Surgical photographs
  • Biopsies - punch, DIF and shave
  • Excisions
  • Electrodessication and curettage
  • I&D
  • Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
  • Phototherapy
  • Injections
  • Koh preps
  • Trichograms
  • Tzank preps
  • Dermabrasion
  • Patch testing
  • Blue light
Qualifications
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
  • Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
  • Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Must possess organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
