AdventHealth Orlando in Orlando, FL seeks a Registered Nurse with lactation expertise to join our team on a PRN basis. This role travels to AdventHealth locations in Orlando, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, Winter Garden, and Celebration to support breastfeeding education and patient care.

Requires RN license, BLS, and CLC certification; 1–2 years lactation experience preferred; bilingual abilities a plus. This is a PRN opportunity with travel across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• RN license and active nursing license required.
• CLC certification required.
• 1–2 years lactation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide private lactation consultations and answer breastfeeding helpline.
• Plan and present prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluate classes.
• Educate clients about breastfeeding and hospital policies.

Job Description: Schedule: PRN This role requires travel to AdventHealth Orlando, AdventHealth Winter Park, AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, AdventHealth Winter Garden, and AdventHealth Celebration Participates in community education opportunities regarding breastfeeding, research projects, speaking engagements, and other company committees.

• Keeps supplies clean and orderly according to policy and reports any needed supplies or educational materials to the supervisor.
• Works in various lactation centers, providing private consultations, answering the breastfeeding help line, facilitating weekly mother/baby luncheons, and selling breastfeeding products.
• Plans and presents prenatal breastfeeding classes, collects evaluations, and makes necessary changes to improve classes.
• Provides accurate and consistent information to clients and patients regarding breastfeeding and company policies and procedures.
• Attends staff meetings and seminars to stay updated on the latest research and shares information with colleagues and staff.

• Current research information regarding Breastfeeding [Preferred]
• Maternity nursing and Newborn nursing knowledge [Preferred]
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Ability to use Interpreter service appropriately [Required]
• Additional languages preferred, especially Spanish [Preferred]

Education

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience

• 1+ acute care hospital [Preferred]
• 2+ maternity or newborn experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) [Required]
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Preferred]
• Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC) [Preferred]

Pay Range: $33.08 - $58.04
