Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Part Time Lab Technologist at Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL. The role involves performing waived to highly complex tests per CLIA, with rotating weekends, holidays and on-call shifts. Requires ASCP certification and a bachelor’s degree in a lab science; state licensure where required.

One year hospital lab experience is preferred. The department emphasizes quality control, patient result accuracy, and collaboration with leadership and LIS/POCT tasks.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests per CLIA guidelines and maintain skill with diverse disciplines.
• Adhere to procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient results and follow QC policies.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or director as needed.
• May be assigned Lead Tech duties and responsibilities related to LIS/POCT, and assist in maintaining department policies.
