Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician for the evening shift. You will perform waived to highly complex tests under CLIA, ensuring accurate results and timely reporting across hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and related areas.

Role requires ASCP certification and at least two years of hospital lab experience, a bachelor’s degree in a health science field, and an active state license where required.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other CLIA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions when tests deviate.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance and report to supervisor/Medical Director.
• Perform tests across Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, etc.
• Maintain and document instrument maintenance per schedule.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to reporting.
