Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL seeks a part-time Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory department, working 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with rotating weekends, at the Evanston and Skokie infusion centers.

The role requires performing waived to highly complex tests per CLIA, adhering to QC policies, maintaining instruments, reporting results, and assisting in policy development. Lead tech duties may arise in supervisor absence.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests per CLIA CFR 493.1425/1495.
• Adhere to QC policies and document corrective actions.
• Identify and correct problems or notify supervisor.
• Perform and document maintenance on instruments and equipment.
• Assist in development and maintenance of laboratory policies and LIS/POCT.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution
