Job summary

Ocean Beach Health is seeking a full-time Certified Lab Assistant to support our mission-driven team on the Washington coast. The Lab Assistant will perform phlebotomy, manage patient interactions with courtesy, and assist with documentation in the EMR.

You will join a nonprofit hospital setting, working to provide high-quality care and maintain strong confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Training and diverse benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; college preferred.
• Familiar with Medical Terminology.
• Washington State Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist Certification.
• Prior experience in hospital/health care operations, with laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Lab Assistant draws blood from patients for analysis or transfusion.
• Assists the Laboratory staff by preparing appropriate paperwork for completion of laboratory tests; answers telephones; filing patient orders, faxing results, entering orders into our EMR.
• Laboratory assistance may perform waived testing after proving competency.
• Performs all other assigned tasks as required.
