Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. seeks a qualified Health Information Specialist to code inpatient charts using ICD-10-CM and follow AHIMA guidelines.

You will support the Health Information Services Department and help maintain accurate medical records across our facilities. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent (Associates preferred), AHIMA certification eligibility or active credentials, and at least one year of inpatient coding experience.

Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD-10-CM coding and AHIMA guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical coding.
• Experience with chart assembly, filing, and release of information.
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Code charts in accordance with ICD-10-CM and AHIMA guidelines.
• Support the Health Information Services Department with clerical and related duties.
• Assemble medical records and perform daily HIM tasks.
