Job Summary

This is a fully remote position for candidates who reside in FL, GA, IN, LA, MS, NV, NC, OK, SC, VA, WY; video conferencing and onsite attendance are required as directed by Corporate Coding Leadership.

Abstracts and codes medical data at the Certified Hospital Coder III level. Responsibilities include handling inpatient accounts as assigned. Training is provided upon hire, with ongoing supervision and support to meet productivity and accuracy standards. Assessments are conducted prior to interviews to evaluate coding knowledge. Overtime may be required based on organizational needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. Training provided for those without experience or with experience.
• Minimum three years' inpatient coding experience with CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC, COC, CIC, CRC, or no experience with RHIA or RHIT.
• Certifications: CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC, COC, CIC, CRC, RHIA, or RHIT.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT coding, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and work overtime if needed. Willingness to travel to multiple locations.
