Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief OT, the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist with a minimum of five years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy. The CHT has successfully passed a comprehensive exam demonstrating advanced clinical skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation. The role requires an advanced understanding of hand/UE anatomy, research principles, and treatment techniques. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, treatment, and ongoing evaluation of care for a diverse hand/UE patient population. The CHT provides patient and family education and support, covering all phases of care including prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, and caregiver training. The CHT collaborates effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program required.
2. Experience: 5 years as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
3. Licensure and/or Certification: Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in Massachusetts required. Certified Hand Therapist by Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC). Preferred certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). BLS healthcare provider certification required.
4. Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Proficient computer skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
