Quirk Auto is seeking an experienced Certified Ford Transmission Technician for our busy Service Department in Quincy, MA. Compensation is based on experience and a strong candidate will diagnose, repair, and verify repairs on Ford transmissions and related vehicle systems.

The role requires hands-on diagnostics, high attention to detail, and the ability to estimate repairs while staying up-to-date with Ford technical bulletins.

Qualifications

• Diagnose vehicle systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, A/C.
• Perform transmission inspections, repairs, rebuilds, replacements, and adjustments.
• Use diagnostic equipment and special service tools to test components.
• Test-drive vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification.
• Provide the service advisor with estimates for additional repairs.
• Stay current with Ford bulletins, recalls and service procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmissions and related systems.
• Perform inspections, rebuilds, and replacements of transmissions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to test components and validate repairs.
• Test-drive vehicles to verify service quality and safety.
• Communicate estimated repairs to Service Advisor and customers.

Key Required Proficiencies:

• Diagnose vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, air conditioning, etc
• Perform transmission inspections, repairs, rebuilds, replacements, and adjustments.
• Use Diagnostic Equipment and Special Service tools to test vehicle components
• Test-driving vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification
• Provide the Service Advisor with an estimate of any additional repairs needed
• Stay current with Ford technical bulletins, recalls, service procedures, and new technology.

Key Required Proficiencies:

• Experience in managing and organizing work time and work-related activities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• A positive attitude
• Strong willingness to learn.
• Deisel experience preferred.
• Previous experience and certifications recommended.
