Job summary

The City of Danville seeks a skilled firefighter to deliver fire safety and suppression services within the city. You will work under supervision to fight fires, train, and participate in medical rescue duties, with strong emphasis on protecting life and property.

Responsibilities include responding to alarms, performing essential firefighting duties, administering CPR, and engaging in ongoing training. A valid KY driver’s license and state certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and Kentucky driver’s license valid.
• Prior full-time fire department experience preferred but not required.
• Must obtain and maintain Kentucky state fire certifications.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms, fires, rescues, extrications, and emergencies.
• Perform hose operations, ladder work, extinguishing techniques and forcible entry.
• Administer CPR and life-saving procedures as needed.
• Conduct salvage, overhaul, and post-incident duties.
• Participate in ongoing training and equipment maintenance.
