Job summary

Methodist Hospital Texsan in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Certified EP Tech to support the Electrophysiology Lab team. You will perform scrub and recorder duties during EP procedures, including ablations, pacemaker/ICD cases, and data collection with precise communication.

Expect strong emphasis on anatomy knowledge, patient safety, and adherence to ALARA radiation practices. HS diploma and required CVT certifications are essential, with opportunities for credentialing and career development.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or G.E.D.
• Two (2) years full-time Invasive Cardiovascular Technology experience or
• Associate Degree or 62 semester hours in health/science/nursing/engineering or related fields or
• Graduate of accredited (CHEA/USDOE/CMA) Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program or
• Graduate of a non-programmatically accredited program with 800 clinical hours
• Experience: None
• One (1) year fulltime or fulltime equivalent in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology preferred; Baccalaureate in health/science and six months in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate advanced technical proficiency for all EP procedures as Cardiovascular Scrub Technician and Electrophysiology Recorder
• Identify cardiac structures and explain dysrhythmia physiology to assist data collection
• Practice ALARA radiation safety and proper use of radiation monitoring devices
• Report life-threatening arrhythmias using electrophysiology data and patient physiology
• Ensure angiographic and procedural data are archived and complete
• Assist and train new staff in scrub/recorder roles
