Job summary

Petco offers a Dog Trainer role where you’ll deliver world-class training sessions, advise pet parents, and drive positive outcomes for pets. You’ll complete structured DTIP training and collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to provide holistic care and guidance on nutrition and wellness.

You’ll engage guests, promote products, and maintain records, while following safety protocols and store policies.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and welfare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with dogs of all sizes and breeds safely.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking.
• Weekend, evening, and holiday availability.
• Physical stamina to stand and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with computer systems to manage schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide World Class Dog Training Services and programs.
• Attend and complete Petco’s Dog Trainer Instructor Program.
• Recommend and sell training classes and supplies to pet parents.
• Maintain training records and progress notes.
• Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams for holistic care.
• Provide 360-degree solutions to guests and pets.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked and presented well.
• Handle cash register transactions and Omni shopping support.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and promote teamwork.
