Job summary

SAK Management is seeking a Certified Dietary Manager to assist the Dietitian in planning, organizing, and directing the dietary department in a long-term care facility. You will work under the Dietitian and Administrator to ensure quality nutritional services, food safety, and sanitary operations.

The role emphasizes coordinating with multiple departments, developing care plans, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a Certified Dietary Manager.
• Graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training.
• Must have 1 year supervisory experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility.
• Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy.
• Must be registered as a Food Service Director in this state.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and state laws governing long-term care dietary functions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate dietary services with Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services and other departments.
• Assist in developing departmental policies, procedures, equipment and supplies.
• Develop preliminary and comprehensive dietary assessments for residents.
• Draft care plans identifying dietary problems and goals.
• Schedule care plans and assessments for committee meetings.
• Ensure care plans are used in daily dietary services.
• Identify any special equipment needs for residents.
• Review and revise care plans and assessments quarterly.
• Provide substitute foods of similar nutritive value when residents refuse meals.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Inspect storage rooms and closets for upkeep and supply control.
• Process diet changes as advised by nursing services.
• Identify and classify tasks with exposure to blood/body fluids.
