Job summary

Avera is seeking a Nutrition Service leader to organize, direct, and evaluate the department in accordance with regulatory standards. You will manage purchasing and inventory, supervise food production, and orient staff to the department while ensuring adequate scheduling and staffing with the right competencies to support patient meals.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to CMS and Joint Commission standards, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient operations

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• ServSafe Certificate required or enrolled within 12 months of hire.
• CDM/CFPP certification within 2 years of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year in food service operations.

Responsibilities

• Provides knowledge to care for the department’s served population.
• Orders and receives department food materials; maintains stock for menus/functions.
• Monitors sanitation of production areas to meet regulatory standards.
• Oversees food prep and ensures adherence to policy.
• Participates in facility surveys and inspections.
• Schedules staff to meet productivity and competency needs.
• Follows safety regulations for equipment use and infection control.
• Interviews, hires, develops, trains, and retains staff; assigns and leads work; evaluates performance.
