Rosewood Center for Rehabilitation and Healing, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Lake Worth Beach, FL, is seeking a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead the Dietary Department under established policies, ensuring quality food service and nutritional care.

The CDM will plan, organize and direct operations, supervise staff, manage budgets, and participate in ongoing education to maintain regulatory compliance and uphold our commitment to compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school diploma and have completed an approved dietary manager’s course.
  • Must have at least two years of supervisory experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility.
  • Training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy is required or advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the Dietary department and its programs and activities.
  • Review department policies, procedures, and manuals at least annually and participate in changes.
  • Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, patients/residents, visitors, family members as necessary.
  • Assist in developing the department budget and maintain costs within parameters.
  • Schedule department hours and assignments to maintain quality patient care.
  • Provide education and on-the-job training for department personnel.
  • Attend workshops and in-services to stay current in healthcare.

Certified Dietary Manager ( CDM ) Job Summary:

The Certified Dietary Manager ( CDM ) is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that quality food service and nutritional care is provided at all times.

Certified Dietary Manager ( CDM ) Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the Dietary services department and its programs and activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Review department policies, procedures, manuals, position descriptions, at least annually and participates in making recommended changes.
  • Interprets policies and procedures to personnel, patients/residents, visitors, family members, as necessary.
  • Assists in the development of the department budget and maintains costs within budget parameters.
  • Review and evaluate the department’s workforce and makes recommendations to the Administrator.
  • Assumes responsibility for recruiting, selecting, and training competent department personnel.
  • Evaluates employee performance and makes recommendations to the Administrator concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, termination, and transfers.
  • Schedules department working hours, personnel work assignments, etc., to maintain quality patient care.
  • Develops and participates in programs designed for on-the-job training and orientation classes for newly assigned department personnel.
  • Schedules and/or conducts a monthly in-service for department personnel. Holds routine departmental meetings. Provides education to other departments in the facility regarding dietary services.
  • Attends and participates in workshops, seminars, and in-services to keep abreast of current changes in the healthcare field and to maintain a professional status.
Certified Dietary Manager ( CDM ) Education and Experience:
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma and have completed an approved dietary manager’s course.
  • Must have, as a minimum two (2) years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility. 4 Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
