The Pines at Davidson is hiring a Certified Dietary Manager.The Dietary Manager is responsible for the overall functions and direction of the dietary services department in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations. Foster a culture of service excellence that anticipates and responds to the needs of our residents. Perform job duties and responsibilities in a manner that reflects the highest ethical and professional standards. The Dietary Manager ensures that the daily nutritional needs of the residents are met providing safe, palatable and appropriate food. Coordination between dietary services and nursing services is essential. Sanitation and proper food handling are essential elements.

Who you are
Education
- Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in dietary management within a healthcare or long-term setting
Skills
- Knowledge of healthcare management principles, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of healthcare food service operations.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety regulations, and dietary management practices.
- Ability to interpret established policies into operating procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring high standards of service and compliance.
What you would do
- Plan, organize and supervise the ongoing operations of the dietary services department.
- Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary requirements of residents, including therapeutic and modified diets, in collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Monitor food production to ensure meals are prepared and served to maintain nutritional value in compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Implement and monitor the strict sanitary requirements of the dietary department both of the physical facility and the proper care and handling of food.
- Oversee inventory control, ordering of food and supplies, and managing the dietary department’s budget to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Interview, hire, train and provide coaching for dietary aides.
- Set and monitor daily work schedules for all dietary aides.
- Manage the overall development and performance of dietary aides. Establish team member goals and conduct performance evaluations.
- Promote and manage the safety of team members and the work environment.
- Engage with residents to understand and accommodate their dietary preferences and needs, fostering a positive dining experience.
- Maintain accurate records of dietary services including meal counts, food temperatures, and compliance audits.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of food service, implementing improvements as necessary to meet resident satisfaction and regulatory requirements and standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Include Vision, Language, Hearing, Range of Motion, Lifting Capacity, Sitting/Standing, etc.)
- Extended periods of sitting, walking and standing.
- Some driving required.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive use of hands includes simple grasping, fine manipulation using keyboard and writing frequently.
- Sensory requirements: Write, keyboarding, speak on phone and in person, speak to large groups, read computer monitor, hear spoken questions and comments in person, on phone and in large groups.
- Work performed in an indoor setting with occasional walking outdoors to various campus locations.
