Job description

Position Summary:

The Dental Assistant will be a dedicated member of our School Health Department to support Dental Services within our public school programs. The full time, Monday through Friday position will spend 2 days in our Elmhurst, Queens School, and 3 days in our Bronx Schools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Must possess Dental Assistant Certification
  • 0-1 years of related experience in a dental setting.
  • Must have flexible schedule.
  • Previous experience working in a school-based setting, a plus.

Key Duties:

  • Assists the Dentist and Dental Hygienist in route procedures.
  • Takes digital X-rays and impressions.
  • Orders dental supplies and maintains inventory.
  • Sterilizes all equipment.
  • Schedules appointments and maintains reception area as required.
  • Distributes patient educational materials as needed.
  • Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals.

Starting Compensation: Minimum $43,680 ($21.00) per year; Maximum $43,680 ($21.00) per year
