Job summary

The Mission Essential Group, LLC seeks a Certified Deaf Interpreter (DI) to support U.S. government refugee programs by providing specialized sign language interpretation for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hearing individuals at ORR sites in Corpus Christi, TX.

Responsibilities include in-person and remote interpreting, collaborating with hearing interpreters, ensuring accurate, culturally appropriate communication for unaccompanied minors, and upholding RID/NAD standards with strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RID and/or NAD CDI certification.
• Proficiency in ASL and other visual/manual communication modalities.
• Experience in team interpreting and working with care staff and youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpreting at ORR programs and sites.
• Deliver remote interpreting via videoconferencing and other virtual tools, including 24/7 requests when required.
• Facilitate communication between Care Staff and UC/UAM/URM using accessible communication methods.
• Collaborate with interpreter teams to ensure accurate, culturally responsive communication.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to RID/NAD standards.
