TEEMA Solutions Group is seeking a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist for a full-time position in Savannah, GA. This role involves assisting the operating surgeon in cardiac surgical procedures at a leading regional medical center.

The candidate must possess a Surgical Technology certification and have previous experience in the operating room, with specific CVOR experience. Shifts will be 10- to 12-hours starting at 6:30 AM, including weekends and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Experience in OR required.
• One to two years of CVOR experience required.
• Must hold current certification in Surgical Technology (CST).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the operating surgeon throughout cardiac surgical procedures.
• Set up and manage instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Prepare and clean instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assist with patient positioning and transport.
• Perform instrument and sponge counts before and after operations.

Job Summary

A Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist opportunity is available in Savannah, GA at a 600+ bed regional medical center that serves as the area’s only Level I trauma center and houses the region’s only children’s hospital. The facility has specialty focus areas including heart care, cancer care, trauma care, and high-risk newborn care.

Responsibilities

Working under the direct supervision of the circulating OR RN, the CVOR Surgical Technologist assists the operating surgeon throughout cardiac surgical procedures. Core responsibilities include setting up and managing instruments, equipment, and supplies for all surgical procedures; preparing and cleaning instruments for terminal sterilization; assisting with patient positioning and transport; performing instrument and sponge counts with the circulator before the operation and before incision closure; and supporting patient preparation between cases by assisting in room turnover.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology
• Experience in OR required
• One to two years of CVOR experience required
• Must hold current certification in Surgical Technology (Certified Surgical Technologist, CST)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule

Full-time position with day shifts on 10- or 12-hour shifts beginning at 6:30 AM, rotating weekends, and on-call requirements dependent on schedule.
