Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking a Crane Operator to safely operate hydraulic, friction and crawler cranes on heavy civil construction projects, including bridges and highways. You will lift, move, and position loads while following load charts and safety procedures.

Required is 1–3 years crane operating experience, NCCCO certification, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work day, swing or night shifts.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience.
One (1) to three (3) years previous crane operating experience, preferably on heavy civil construction projects including bridges, highway, transit, and rail.
Current NCCCO Crane Operator Certification, required.
Experience operating heavy equipment including but not limited to forklifts, skid steers, preferred.
Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Maintain safe crane operations per company and manufacturers procedures within the crane's capabilities.
Configure crane according to the manufacturers load charts, range diagrams and recommendations.
Repair any deficiencies that affect safe operation before operating the crane.
Perform daily pre- and post-shift safety inspections and document per policies.
Ensure lifts are within load limits and correctly rigged.
Ensure boom angle and radius conform to load charts and range diagrams.
Support crew when not operating crane with general duties to complete work.
May operate other heavy equipment including forklifts and skid steers.
Keep work area and equipment free of safety hazards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
