Job summary

Quincy Medical Group seeks a Certified Coder in Quincy, Illinois, to support accurate coding across the organization. You will review documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring reimbursement accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong attention to detail, coding knowledge, and collaboration with providers and revenue cycle teams. Hybrid work may be available after 6 months in a physician-led environment focused on quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current coding certification such as CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or equivalent.
• Previous professional coding experience in a physician practice, healthcare organization, or revenue cycle setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Experience with electronic health records and coding software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes per guidelines.
• Ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations and payer policies.
• Identify documentation deficiencies and obtain clarifications from providers.
• Assist with coding audits, quality reviews, and compliance initiatives.
• Support charge capture accuracy and timely claim submission processes.
