Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Havasu Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Central Sterile Technician with 1–2 years of experience to join our team.

In this role you will collect, decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments, maintain documentation, support patient care areas, and ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, TJC and OSHA guidelines. CSR and BLS certifications are required within specified times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• CSR certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior Central Sterile experience required.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.
• Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
• Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
• Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
• Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Licenses & Certifications:

• Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Skills & Experience:

• Prior work experience in Central Sterile Tech is required.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
