Job summary

Atlas is seeking CEI Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Inspection practice team in Columbia, South Carolina. You will perform technical inspection and testing procedures across concrete, earthwork, asphalt, erosion control, and related areas for SCDOT projects.

Applicants should have SCDOT certifications or be able to obtain them, with a background in highway construction and inspection procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum one year of construction inspection experience on bridge or roadway projects.
Or two years of construction inspection experience with at least one year on bridge or roadway projects.
Certification in area of inspection (e.g., Concrete Level 1/2, Asphalt Roadway Technician, Asphalt (HMA) Level 1, Earthwork/Base, Foundations, Pavement Preservation) is required.

Responsibilities

Monitor contractor work to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and testing procedures per the SCDOT Construction Manual.
Record daily construction activities and document progress details.
Verify that estimates reflect quantities installed and provide payment recommendations as needed.
Maintain accurate project documentation and inspection records.
Communicate inspection findings and project status to stakeholders.
