Job Summary and Qualifications

As a work from home Cancer Registry Team Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational activities related to Cancer Registry services provided to hospitals according to the Service Level Agreement with the Cancer Registry Shared Services.

What you will do in this role:

• Provide general directions to Cancer Registry staff in case-finding and abstraction.
• Assist Cancer Registry Leadership in reviewing and improving processes and services.
• Perform quality control monitoring and reporting of abstracts for accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with case abstracting according to the standards of the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and the appropriate State Central Cancer Registry.
• Prepare the NCDB Annual Call for Data export file, ensuring all edits are cleared before submission.
• Submit data monthly to the appropriate State Central Cancer Registry.
• Resolve errors causing record rejections from NCDB and State Registry.
• Assist in employee training and development.
• Coordinate and perform productivity and quality reviews of team work.
• Report periodically to management on team and individual accomplishments, issues, progress, and training needs.
• Monitor established productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years of abstracting experience required.
• 4 or more years of abstracting and/or HIM-related supervisory experience preferred.
• Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification required; Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification in lieu of CTR is acceptable.
