Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Current and valid driver’s license.
• Good driving record.
• ICC Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Residential Inspector ICC certification to be obtained within two years.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction for code compliance in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Perform elementary plan reviews and issue permits.
• Answer code questions from the public and enforce codes.
• Maintain organized files and prepare violation notices and tickets.
• Present cases at adjudication hearings and maintain customer service standards.
