Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush doctors are the official team physicians for major Chicago sports teams and universities.

Ready to join us? We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join a busy orthopedic practice. Under physician supervision, this role evaluates patients and develops/implements care plans. The position involves working 4 days in our Chicago clinic and 1 day in Oak Park.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate referred patients and develop care plans based on physician guidance and patient needs.
  • Document evaluations and care plans.
  • Provide physical care, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatments accordingly.
  • Communicate with patients and families regarding treatment, activities, and home care.
  • Offer preventative education on health maintenance, injury prevention, and conditioning.
  • Demonstrate current competencies applicable to the role.
  • Perform duties of team members as workload requires.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, FLSA).
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with selecting orthotics, braces, and protective equipment.
  • Assist with in-office concussion screenings.
  • Coordinate pre-competition physical exams and health history updates with team physicians.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Graduate of an approved NATA school.
  • Preferably, clinical experience in a medical practice setting.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registration
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
