Job summary

Select Physical Therapy in Washington, DC is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to support our NBA referees during the 2026/2027 season. This is a per diem/PRN on-site role at Capital One Arena.

You will implement on-site preventive and care services, document in the EMR, and coordinate care with NBA staff and Select support teams. Minimum qualifications include a BS degree, NATA-BOC certification, CPR, a state license where required, and at least 3 years of ATC experience; a

Responsibilities

• Implement and provide on-site preventative and maintenance care program for NBA referees.
• Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before, during games, and at home or while traveling to decrease risk of injury.
• Record changes in athlete response within the plan of care in the EMR system.
• Document accordingly in our EMR program.
• Communicate effectively with referees, NBA, and Select support staff on care.

Overview

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide care for our professional athletes! This position will support our service agreement with the National Basketball Association for referee care during the 2026/2027 season in Washington, DC.

Position: Certified Athletic Trainer

Location: 600 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Suite 202, Washington DC 20003, Physical work location - (Capital One Arena, 601 F St NW, Washington, DC 20004)

Type of Employment: Per Diem/PRNSchedule: Hours vary as needed

Compensation: $55/hour – 3 hours per coverage date

Responsibilities

• Implement and provide on-site preventative and maintenance care program for NBA referees.
• Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before, during games, and at home or while traveling to decrease risk of injury (techniques can include stretching, taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration, and minor wound care).
• Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record change as indicated by athlete response within limits of the specified plan of care.
• Document accordingly in our EMR program.
• Communicate effectively with referees, NBA, and Select support staff on care.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
• National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) Board of Certification
• CPR certification
• Applicable state license where required
• 3 Years of ATC experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
