Job summary

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer to support our NBA referee care program for the 2026/2027 season in Portland, OR. This per diem/PRN role offers on-site coverage with dynamic athletes and a broad CEU-rich environment.

Responsibilities include implementing on-site care, applying rehab techniques during travel and games, and documenting progress in the EMR system. Requires BS in a related field, NATA-BOC certification, and 3+ ATC years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a related field required.
• NATA-BOC Board of Certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Applicable state athletic trainer license where required.
• Minimum 3 years of ATC experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and provide on-site preventive and maintenance care for NBA referees.
• Administer athletic training techniques before, during, and after games and while traveling.
• Evaluate effectiveness of treatments and document athlete progress.
• Document care in the EMR system.
• Communicate with referees, NBA, and Select support staff.

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide care for our professional athletes! This position will support our service agreement with the National Basketball Association for referee care during the 2026/2027 season in Portland, OR.

Position: Certified Athletic Trainer

Location: NBA - Portland Moda Center, 1 N. Center Street Portland OR 97227

Type of Employment: Per Diem/PRNSchedule: Hours vary as needed

Compensation: $55/hour – 3 hours per coverage date

Responsibilities

• Implement and provide on-site preventative and maintenance care program for NBA referees.
• Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before, during games, and at home or while traveling to decrease risk of injury (techniques can include stretching, taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration, and minor wound care).
• Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record change as indicated by athlete response within limits of the specified plan of care.
• Document accordingly in our EMR program.
• Communicate effectively with referees, NBA, and Select support staff on care.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
• National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) Board of Certification
• CPR certification
• Applicable state license where required
• 3 Years of ATC experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
