Join our growing team as a Certified Athletic Trainer!

Looking for a job as a Certified Athletic Trainer? The new ATC will serve as the Head Athletic Trainer in the high school setting (hours per high school contract) utilizing specific knowledge and skills to prevent, assess, treat and rehabilitate injuries incurred by student-athletes. Act as an extension of our community outreach by representing Integrated Rehabilitation Services as the provider of athletic training services.

Team treat patients in clinical setting utilizing specific knowledge and skills that assist the Physical Therapist to provide services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Serve as a resource to patients in the education and progression of the therapeutic exercise progression to help to restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a relationship with coaches, parents, administration and team physicians to establish a professional reputation. Interactions include meetings, phone calls, athlete visits, surgery observation, sports night presentations, educational lectures and CPR training.
  • Promote athlete injury prevention through prehab, strength and conditioning, sport specific screenings and educational talks to the school community.
  • Maintain accurate injury records through use of daily logs, injury notification forms and joint specific injury reports.
  • Maintain and submit records for Injury Case Tracking Report and Seasonal Injury Summary Report to Clinical Director.
  • Discuss patient’s initial evaluation and plan of care with Physical Therapist to determine ATC’s involvement with each patient.
  • Supervise therapeutic exercise and neuromuscular re-education under the direction of the Physical Therapist and assist in the documentation of the subjective information and therapeutic exercise.
  • Progress exercise programs according to the patient goals as reviewed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Consult with appropriate medical professionals including the referring physician and his/her staff, specialists and other fitness/rehab professionals as deemed necessary under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
  • NATA Certified Athletic Trainer.
  • Connecticut Athletic Trainer license.
  • Acquired skills to work in an outpatient orthopedic/high school athletic training room environment.
  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Strong desire and commitment to professional growth and development.
Salary Information
  • $42,500 – $65,000/year.
