Job summary
South Coast Community Services in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor to provide counseling, case coordination, and recovery support within an interdisciplinary behavioral health team.
Responsibilities include conducting screenings and assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating individual and group sessions, coordinating with community resources, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EHR while
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of applicable AOD/SUD counselor education and training requirements.
- Associate's or bachelor's in behavioral health or related field preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a current AOD/SUD counselor certification recognized by DHCS.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling within education, certification, and scope.
- Coordinate services with interdisciplinary treatment team and external providers.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and referrals in the EHR.
- Maintain client records and ensure HIPAA and confidentiality compliance.
