Job summary

Northwell Health seeks an Anesthesia Technician to operate and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies. You will support anesthesia care by preparing monitors, circuits, and IV setups, and assist anesthesiologists during procedures.

The role requires ASATT certification, a high school diploma, and strong communication and organizational skills. You will work as part of the anesthesia team, ensuring safety and readiness across operating rooms.

Qualifications

• Must possess ASATT certification and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work well under high pressure and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, and initiate repairs for anesthesia equipment.
• Daily checks of monitoring equipment and preparation of equipment for procedures.
• Notify Bio-Medical Specialist for repairs to ensure patient safety.
• Assist with setup of anesthesia cases including equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate with surgical team and outside unit activities as needed.
• Calibrate pressure transducers and maintain QA logs.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure availability of emergency equipment.
• Maintain clean and sterile equipment and infection control standards.
• Stock supplies for anesthesia administration and report supply needs.
