The Arizona Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts, is reviewing applicants for certification and admission matters including bar exam pathways and consultant statuses. The role focuses on evaluating qualifications against admission standards and communicating progress to applicants.
Responsibilities include verifying documents, maintaining the Unit’s database, and drafting notices and deficiency requests.
This position is responsible for several different types of work within the subject matter of certifying and investigating applicants seeking admission on motion, admission by transfer of bar exam score, law professor certification, foreign legal consultant status, military service member and military service member spouse certification, and practice pending admission. The primary focus will be to assess applicants’ qualifications and adherence to the admission standards set forth by the Rules of the Supreme Court of Arizona.
In addition, this position will provide clear and comprehensive day-to-day professional-level information regarding admission standards, procedural processes, mandatory rules and procedures, and application status to applicants through verbal and written communication. Review and analyze all applications verifying the authenticity of required supporting documents and accurately recording all necessary information in the Unit's database system. Initiate, prepare, and issue written requests, notices of deficiency, notices of certification, and create a comprehensive database to track applicants.
This position will also recommend and draft policies and procedures, assist with the maintenance of the Unit’s website, archive closed applications, and maintain a written inventory of all archived files. Additionally, this position will provide professional level assistance in running large programs (i.e., bar exam) including collaborating with other Unit members to prepare material and oversee the proctoring of bar examinations, including on-site coordination, registration, proctor instruction, procedure oversight, security, and assisting with pre and post-examination procedure.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and two years’ experience in a related field. Directly related experience may substitute for a degree. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated expertise in communicating diplomatically and effectively with diverse and sometimes conflicting stakeholders, including applicants, committee members, judicial officers, staff, and the public. Proficiency in database utilization, word processing programs, internet search and website management. Strong research, tracking and critical analysis skills, along with the capacity to manage multiple confidential and complex records. The ability to make subjective and objective decisions, exercise judgment and diplomacy in addressing complex and sensitive issues and consistently produce precise and accurate work in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
The preferred candidate will have experience and knowledge of professional licensing and document examination procedures.
