FLSA Status: Exempt

Pay Range: $50,000 – 55,000 Annually (Starting pay contingent on experience and qualifications)

About Professional Testing

Professional Testing is a Psychometric Consulting Firm that develops, administers, and maintains licensure and certification examination programs in a wide range of industries. Our full range of services also includes program audits, accreditation preparation, policy development, recertification requirements, implementation of effective organizational and governance structure, and ethics and disciplinary procedures. Our team provides expertise in best certification practices and program management. We have offices in Orlando, Florida, and Denver, Colorado.

The work environment is a professional office setting with a small number of employees and with very little walk-in traffic. Professional Testing, Inc. is a private test development company that provides licensure and certification examinations for state and local government and national certification boards. Many of the examination programs are “high-stakes” examinations, meaning that candidates must pass them in order to obtain work in their chosen field. As a result, a high level of security must be maintained in our offices.

Test Developer

Professional Testing is seeking an individual to apply for the role of a Test Developer. This person will perform test development activities for certification and licensure programs, including managing the item writing process with subject matter experts, conducting item writing orientation, facilitating item review, and facilitating form review. This person will manage item banks, including entering and editing test items, creating examination forms, and publishing examination forms. They will create online surveys for job analyses and other research activities, and summarize survey results for presentations. They will perform test item and exam form analyses. Additionally, they will be responsible for synthesizing complex test development activities into concise meeting summaries and technical reports.

Essential Job Functions
  • Facilitate item and form review
  • Update and maintain item banks
  • Create and publish examinations
  • Create, edit, and format high-quality vector graphics and diagrams for examination items using Adobe Illustrator to ensure visual clarity and standardization.
  • Perform quality assurance activities for exam forms, reports, and other project materials
  • Assist with face-to-face client workshops
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors and clients
  • Write technical reports and meeting summaries
  • Build online surveys
  • Analyze, manipulate, and interpret statistical dataOccasional travel

Education and Experience
  • Four-year university degree (Bachelor’s) required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the licensure/certification field OR strong preference for current or former teachers
