Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is seeking a Pottery Instructor to teach pottery classes, develop curriculum and assessments, and build community partnerships.

Ideal candidates will hold a Fine Arts credential or equivalent experience, have two years of teaching experience (five years preferred), and demonstrate portfolio work. Strong communication, leadership, and the ability to guide students with varying levels of skill are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts or equivalent experience.
• Two years teaching experience; five years preferred.
• Evidence of portfolio and curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Teach pottery classes including prep and cleanup.
• Run the kiln and ensure finished pieces are returned timely.
• Design curricula, rubrics, and lesson plans; report activities to the Arts Education Manager.
• Develop partnerships with schools and organizations for pottery programs.
• Recruit and outreach as directed by the Fine Arts Coordinator.
• Teach additional classes and workshops as needed.
