Job summary

The State of California seeks a CEQA Senior Environmental Scientist Supervisor to lead the CEQA unit in the CalGEM CEQA Program, headquartered in Sacramento. The role reports to the Environmental Program Manager and guides technical staff in CEQA-related work, with a focus on innovative compliance and program goals.

The incumbent will work in a hybrid schedule (one remote day, four days in-office) from Sacramento or Bakersfield, ensuring coordination with agencies and stakeholders to advance

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, verbal and written, with ability to promote collaboration.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments in a supervisory role.
• Experience supervising or directing staff in environmental projects.
• Experience evaluating environmental impacts under CEQA and/or NEPA.
• Experience coordinating with government agencies or external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
• Experience conducting environmental analysis or scientific work.

• Act as CEQA unit supervisor in the CalGEM CEQA Program in Sacramento.
• Plan, direct and manage technical staff and CEQA-related work.
