Job summary

CSG Consultants, Inc. in Southern California is seeking a CEQA Project Manager to lead environmental documentation efforts across a variety of projects.

You will manage CEQA studies, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget. The role is full-time and hybrid within the Planning Services Group, with opportunities to grow through business development and proposals across California.

Qualifications

• This role requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, geography, planning or related field (or in process).
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience with a government agency or firm in environmental analysis and reporting.
• Familiar with CEQA and coordinating/managing various study levels.
• Understanding of CEQA processes and environmental consulting industry practices.
• Experience as a lead project manager with clients and interdisciplinary teams, delivering reports on time and on budget.
• Knowledge of Appendix G CEQA Guidelines and State CEQA Guidelines; awareness of OPR guidance and relevant court cases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and, a plus, Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Strong writing, editing, and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Project Manager on projects and proposal pursuits.
• Prepare environmental documentation for diverse development, infrastructure, and policy projects.
• Lead preparation of CEQA documents (EIRs, initial studies, mitigated ND, exemptions) and related studies.
• Ensure CEQA requirements are met within guidelines.
• Maintain client satisfaction and act as primary CEQA deliverables contact.
• Develop schedules, scopes, and budgets to drive project success.
• Prioritize workload and manage deadlines for team and client.
• Incorporate sub-consultant reports and research into document sections.
• Contribute to proposals, business development, and staff development.
• Engage in business development activities (proposals, qualifications, conferences, client interactions).
• Contribute to Environmental Planning Business Plan and strategic growth.
