The American Board of Surgery seeks its next President and Chief Executive Officer, a servant leader who will guide a highly respected voice in surgical education and certification. The CEO will partner with the Board to shape strategic priorities and ensure ABS remains responsive to a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will oversee the Council and support certification rigor, stakeholder engagement, and organizational transformation.

Qualificações

• Active certification with ABS and a minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in a complex healthcare, academic medicine, or medical professional organization.
• Demonstrated executive leadership in strategic planning and organizational management, with understanding of medical education, certification processes, and quality assessment.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with the Board, Council, and specialty boards to shape and execute strategic priorities for certification.
• Oversee the Council to support rigor and relevance of ABS certification and Continuous Certification processes.
• Represent ABS externally and build relationships with medical specialty boards, accrediting bodies, surgical societies, and educational institutions.
