Jewish Federation of Central New York & Jewish Foundation of Central New York are seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to guide two organizations. The CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership, build donor relationships, and partner with boards to advance a shared vision for Jewish life in Central New York.

The role demands a compelling communicator, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within a nonprofit, philanthropic, Jewish communal, or other mission‑driven organization of comparable size or complexity.
• Strong track record in financial resource development, including annual campaigns, major gifts, endowments, and planned giving.
• Experience leading, developing, and empowering professional teams through supervision, coaching, and accountability.
• Ability to lead two distinct yet connected organizations, balancing separate governance while aligning shared goals.
• Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, with a commitment to integrity, authenticity, collaboration, and trust.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for both the Federation and Foundation in partnership with their boards, translating vision into priorities and action.
• Provide leadership for programs, operations, finance, fundraising, communications, and administration.
• Balance fiduciary responsibilities and governance structures while fostering alignment where possible.
• Develop strong relationships with boards and leadership, ensuring meaningful engagement in strategy and fundraising.
• Lead and inspire the professional team through supervision, mentorship, and accountability.
• Oversee fundraising strategy, donor relations, and campaign growth, with emphasis on major gifts and endowments.
